My soul thirsts for You
Psalm 63
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
The Thirsting Soul Satisfied in God.
A Psalm of David, [a]when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
1 O God, You are my God; I shall seek You [b]earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh [c]yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. 2 Thus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. 3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You. 4 So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5 My soul is satisfied as with [d]marrow and fatness, And my mouth offerspraises with joyful lips.
6 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, 7 For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. 8 My soul clings [e]to You; Your right hand upholds me.
9 But those who seek my [f]life to destroy it, Will go into the [g]depths of the earth. 10 [h]They will be [i]delivered over to the power of the sword; They will be a [j]prey for foxes. 11 But the king will rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him will glory, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.

Verse 8 – “Your right hand upholds me”!
This is a truth in my life, dear Dawn! But for the right hand of God upholding me, I’d be a goner a long time ago. My prayer is always, “Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe”! [Psalm 119:117].
Here is a gem from A.W. Pink on this – “No matter how richly gifted they (Saints) may be, how eminent in God’s service, how greatly honored and used of Him, let His sustaining power be withdrawn from them for a moment and it will quickly be seen that they are earthen vessels. No man stands any longer than he is supported by Divine grace. The most experienced saint, if left to himself, is immediately seen to be as weak as water and as timid as a mouse. “Man at his best estate is altogether vanity” (Psa 39:5). Then why should it be thought a thing incredible when we read of the failings and falls of the most favored of God’s saints and servants? Noah’s drunkenness, Lot’s carnality, Abraham’s prevarications, Moses’ anger, Aaron’s jealously, Joshua’s haste, David’s adultery, Jonah’s disobedience, Peter’s denial, Paul’s contention with Barnabas, are so many illustrations of the solemn truth that “there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Eccl 7:20). Perfection is found in Heaven, but nowhere on earth except in the Perfect Man”!
May the good Lord uphold both you, me and all true saints who read this until His appearing!
Love
Mike!
This is true in my life too Mike. Thank you for the exerpt from Pink. Very very true…perfection is found in Heaven, but nowhere on earth except in the Perfect Man…No man stands any longer than he is supported by Divine grace…
